Lofi music has been a growing trend among music listeners in the past couple years. A few popular channels on YouTube have been dedicated to continuously broadcasting lofi music 24/7, accompanied with simple animation that matches the emotion of the song.


The rise of these lofi channels has inspired many people to create their own art set to lofi music, creating an art movement known as "lofijazzhiphop". But due to the recent pandemic and stay-at-home orders all over the world, people are finding it difficult to get inspiration for their art without leaving their home. The solution? Bring the lofi channels into VR and make them available to everyone at any time!

The metaverse is a collective virtual shared space, created by the convergence of virtually enhanced physical reality and physically persistent virtual space, including the sum of all virtual worlds, augmented reality, and the internet. The word was coined by science fiction writer Neal Stephenson in his 1992 novel Snow Crash.


3D Internet has been used as a synonym, but it only refers to graphical environments. This means that Metaverse is an immersive to internet world. The term virtual reality is often used to refer to immersive, three-dimensional environments experienced through special equipment (such as goggles or gloves) which mimic sensory input (including touch and vision) but Metaverse is very different from VR. It is more like a supportive community that has its own rules and norms.


Metaverse can be defined as a persistent digital place where people spend most of their time online. This could be social media platforms like Instagram, Twitter or Facebook; however, it doesn’t end there. It includes other applications such as Minecraft that are not necessarily social media platforms but are still online communities through which people spend most of their time online.


Lofi or low fidelity music is an aesthetic of music that could also be played in virtual reality.


Listening to Lofi Music in metaverse will become commonplace for the average person as more and more people are using VR headsets in their home due to the enriched situation of different virtual world.

The term 'lofi' comes from the abbreviation of low fidelity, a recording quality that is characterized by technical flaws such as distortion and background noise. A specific hip hop genre known as lofi hip hop has emerged in recent years, and its popularity has spawned an entire visual culture around it.


Videos on YouTube with lofi music are often associated with animations of rain, a city skyline or coffee shop scenes. The scenes are meant to create a mood of ambiance, tranquility and relaxation. They are often paired with upbeat but soft music to foster an atmosphere where viewers can focus on their work or study without getting distracted.


The lofi hip hop genre is becoming more popular every day as more YouTubers and streamers are using it for background music during their live streams or for study music for students who need something to focus on during their homework sessions.


And think about how it could turn from 2D to 3D, it has to be metaverse. As Metaverse is a new virtual reality internet, where users can create and shape their avatars and virtual worlds. So is Lofi Music channel nowadays.


The most important reason for using Metaverse is the social interaction. Users can participate in 3D chatrooms, attend live events, and even “meet up” with other people to talk or hang out together. In these virtual environments, users are represented by digital avatars.
